Registrations and Licensing Assistant
NZTR
NZTR
New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) is the governing body of the thoroughbred racing industry in New Zealand. Our purpose is simple: to do what is best for New Zealand thoroughbred racing — today and for the future.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Registrations and Licensing Assistant to join our team based in Cambridge Waikato. This role provides administrative and customer service support across NZTR’s registrations and licensing functions, with a primary focus on registrations (approx. 70%) and support to licensing as needed (approx. 30%). The balance may flex depending on seasonal demands and business needs.
You’ll be responsible for accurate data entry, record maintenance, responding to customer enquiries, and following procedures to ensure records and applications are processed efficiently and in line with NZTR requirements.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a process-driven environment and takes pride in getting the details right. You enjoy helping others—whether it’s answering a question over the phone, guiding someone through a form, or supporting your teammates when things get busy. You’re comfortable juggling multiple tasks, can stay calm under pressure, and know when to ask for help or escalate an issue.
You’re approachable, professional, and always ready to project a positive image of NZTR. You’re eager to learn, open to feedback, and excited to develop your knowledge of the racing industry. Most importantly, you’re a reliable team player who values accuracy, confidentiality, and great service.
If you’re looking for a role where your organisational skills and customer focus will make a real difference—and you want to be part of a supportive, passionate team—then we’d love to hear from you
What You’ll Bring
