What is a Racing Coordinator?

A Racing Coordinator works closely with industry participants to ensure the seamless execution of Thoroughbred Races across New Zealand.

 

Some of the key responsibilities of a Racing Coordinator include:

  • Managing horse nominations, rider declarations, and withdrawal processes.
  • Coordinating race meeting preparations and providing vital race field information.
  • Supporting all aspects of race entries, race fields, and trial fields.
  • The opportunity to contribute to projects, including racing policy development, race day operations and racing integrity initiatives.

Steps to becoming a Racing Coordinator

  • Good understanding of the industry and racing in general
  • Prior experience in customer service roles
  • Ability to self-lead
  • Competent using Microsoft Suite applications (minimum intermediate level)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask
  • Keen to develop and grow further
