Alyssa Parris

Meet Alyssa Parris

Unlike many in the racing industry, Alyssa Parris didn’t grow up around horses, let alone involved in racing, but a lifelong love of horses ultimately paved the way for her to pursue a career in the saddle.

Beginning with lessons at a local riding school, Alyssa progressed through Pony Club before discovering a love for thoroughbreds while riding for friends involved in rehoming off-the-track racehorses. Her introduction to the racing industry came when she spotted a stablehand job advertised on Facebook by Riccarton trainer Lance Robinson, and the rest is history.

Gaining valuable experience as an Amateur Jockey, Alyssa secured her spot in the Elite Jockey Programme and continued to develop her skills before making the transition into the professional riding ranks. Alyssa made an immediate impression when she commenced race riding in August 2026, securing her first win at just her second professional raceday ride.
