New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) is the regulatory and governing authority for the sport of Thoroughbred racing in New Zealand. We are tasked with ensuring the overall health and successful development of the sport across New Zealand, seeking to enhance its attraction to customers and its position in the sporting and cultural landscape of the country. Racing contributes close to $1.9 billion (0.9% of GDP) to the New Zealand economy and directly employs approximately 13,600 people.
We are excited to offer this opportunity for a Content Creator Team Lead based in Cambridge. This full-time role will shape the way we promote our sport through engaging digital content that connects with fans and stakeholders alike.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the development and execution of NZTR’s digital content strategy across our platforms, including LOVERACING.NZ and social media channels. You’ll lead a small team of content creators, manage third-party content providers, and oversee the planning and delivery of multimedia content that tells the story of Thoroughbred Racing in New Zealand.
From capturing raceday action and behind-the-scenes footage to crafting compelling personal interest stories, your creativity will help grow our audience and deepen engagement. You’ll also play a key role in content scheduling, editorial planning, and ensuring brand consistency across all outputs.
Please note: This role will not always follow a standard Monday to Friday schedule. Flexibility is essential, as weekend work and travel will be required to capture content at key racing events and activations.

About the Person
We’re looking for someone with 2–4 years’ experience in content creation or digital media, ideally with a background in marketing or communications. You’ll be confident in planning, shooting, and editing multimedia content, and have a strong understanding of social media trends and audience engagement.
Leadership and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects. A passion for storytelling and a creative mindset are key. Knowledge of Thoroughbred Racing is highly desirable.
