Stud Groom

Bellwood Farm, Matamata is a picturesque and well-regarded division of Pencarrow Stud. Located at Piarere, 15 minutes from Matamata and in the heart of the Waikato district.

We have an exciting opportunity available for someone to join our team as a Stud Groom. This position requires someone who has a general level of experience with horses and will allow for full time or part time work. 

Applicants will be:

• Gaining experience handling foals and broodmares
• Handling & leading yearlings
• Assisting in preparation for NZB yearling sales
• Completing general stud farm duties including daily feeding and checking of bloodstock.

 The successful applicant will show:

• A capable level of understanding horses
• Good communication skills to liaise with other staff members
• Be able to work in a team as well as unsupervised at times
• The ability to perform general stud duties such as mucking out, feeding and grooming of horses.
