Conor and Sarah Fahy are looking for a track rider to join their team.
Location: Pukekohe, Auckland, NZ Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience) Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week.
About the Role: Kawa Park are seeking an experienced Trackwork Rider to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for riding a range of thoroughbreds, from young horses in education to seasoned racehorses, and assisting with daily stable duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Riding racehorses in trackwork, including fast work both solo and in company
- Handling and exercising young and green horses confidently and safely
- General stablehand duties including mucking-out, feeding, grooming, and washing horses
- Assisting with gear preparation and horse care before and after work
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the stables and surrounding areas
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a trackwork rider or similar role within a racing stable
- Strong horsemanship skills and confidence handling young and fit thoroughbreds
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Must meet the physical demands of the role
Hours & Pay:
- Minimum 30 hours per week
- $25.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience
